The Knights combined strong starting pitching with timely extra-base hitting and aggressive baserunning to take full control of the first conference series of the year.
Friday: Marcano spins shutout to set tone
On Friday, right-hander Ezra Marcano was outstanding on the mound, firing 8.0 shutout innings while allowing just six hits, walking none, and striking out eight in a 6–0 win. He faced 32 batters and did not allow a runner to cross the plate, setting the tone for the series before Lyle McKinnon closed it out with a scoreless ninth.
The game remained scoreless until the fourth, when Clayton Jeanneret broke things open with a two-run double to score McCovey Williams and Tyler Zahniser. In the fifth, Zahniser tripled home Wayne Tackett, Williams followed with an RBI double, and Patrick Bowen Jr. added another RBI double to make it 5–0.
Shasta tacked on its final run in the seventh when Kole Martinez doubled in Zahniser, giving the Knights a comfortable 6–0 margin. Zahniser finished 1-for-2 with a triple, three runs scored, an RBI, and two walks, while Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Jeanneret led the way with a 2-for-4 day and three RBI, and both Bowen Jr. and Martinez chipped in RBI doubles to highlight a nine-hit attack.
Saturday: Knights' offense erupts for 12–6 win
On Saturday, the Knights' bats erupted for 15 hits in a 12–6 victory to complete the series sweep and move to 2–0 in conference play. After falling behind 1–0 in the first, Shasta answered with a four-run second inning and continued to build the lead with runs in six straight frames from the second through the seventh.
Center fielder Tyler Zahniser again set the table, going 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. Williams stayed hot with a 3-for-5 performance, driving in three runs, scoring once, and adding both an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. Tackett turned in another big day, going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, two runs scored, and three stolen bases.
The middle of the order did damage as well: Martinez went 2-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs; Bowen Jr. finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, walk, run, and two stolen bases; Jeanneret added a hit, RBI, run, and stolen base; and Daniel Osborne drove in two with a hit and a bases-loaded walk, also stealing a bag. Caden Illingworth scored twice, while Easton McDonald contributed a hit, a run, and a sacrifice.
On the mound, Brady Kennedy worked 4.2 innings in the start, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits without a walk. Lucas Day earned the win with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief, giving up just two hits and striking out three, before Joseph Ruettgers finished the ninth. Siskiyous managed 11 hits and six runs, but Shasta's consistent offense and bullpen work kept the game firmly in the Knights' control.

Across the two games, Shasta's pitching staff surrendered just six runs over 18 innings, while the offense piled up 18 total runs on 24 hits.
