Shasta set the tone early, winning the first quarter 23–14 and carrying that momentum into halftime with a 42–28 lead. Santa Monica matched Shasta in the third (17–17) to stay within striking distance, but Shasta slammed the door in the fourth, outscoring Santa Monica 19–10 to seal the 23-point victory.
Shasta shot efficiently and spaced the floor well, finishing 30-of-70 (42.9%) from the field and knocking down 12 threes on 28 attempts (42.9%). They also controlled possession and tempo with 44 rebounds (including 18 offensive boards) and 21 assists, creating second-chance points and open perimeter looks throughout the day.
The lady Knights open up GVC play on Wednesday January 7th when they host College of the Redwoods.
