OFFENSE EXPLODES FOR KNIGHTS IN PERFECT WEEK
Knights run shutout streak to three matches
REDDING, Calif. – The Knights continue to dismantle opponents during the second half of the season.
Shasta College's women's soccer team beat Lassen College 2-0 and College of the Siskiyous 4-0 last week extend their streak to five straight matches without a loss.
The Knights also haven't allowed a goal since Oct. 17 with a 3-2 win over the Butte Roadrunners, which propelled them into second place in the Golden Valley Conference standings.
Against Lassen, sophomore Rylie Pinnell assisted a goal each to freshman Emily Brooks and sophomore Maite Silva-Bradley as Shasta registered 17 shots on goal in the match. Goalkeepers Alexandra Erickson and Kirstin Adams combined for a shutout with one save apiece.
Shasta got a goal from four different players to beat Siskiyous. Emily Brooks scored once on a Rose Watkins assist and assisted Silva-Bradley and freshman Paige Reed for goals, and sophomore Haley Moebes scored on an assist from Silva-Bradley.
Erickson, Pinnell and Reed each had one save in the shutout.
Shasta is 7-2-1 in GVC play and 12-4-1 overall, and hosts first-place Lake Tahoe Tuesday at noon for its final home game. A playoff spot is on the line for the Knights' regular season finale Friday at Butte College.
