TWO KNIGHTS WIN EVENTS AT BUTTE PREVIEW

MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College's Anthony Pigoni-Covington won the men's high jump and Grace Southern captured the women's 800 meter run to lead the Knights track and field team Saturday at the Butte Preview at Yuba College in Marysville.

The Shasta men had five Top 5 finishes out of 23 event participants while all six of the women event entries finished in the Top 5.

Shasta's women's team took fifth out of six places with 35 points behind Butte College (101), American River (94) College, College of the Redwoods (80), Yuba College (58) and one place ahead of Sacramento City College (24).

Shasta's men finished seventh with 32 points, trailing American River (158), Sacramento City (82), Yuba (64), Butte (60), Redwoods (58) and College of the Siskiyous (36).

MEN
100 meters: Holden Gilbert was eighth in 11.71 seconds, Dante Harris was 14th (12.00), Josiah Graham was 18th (12.13), Jordan Hall was 27th (12.72), Cameron Streater was 28th (12.73), Gabe Gissell was 29th (13.31).

200 meters: Gilbert was 13th (23.89), Jackson Reindel was 14th (23.90), Gage Bellomo was 17th (24.56), Graham was 22nd (25.27), Harris was 19th (24.90), Streater was 28th (26.80), Gissell was 29th (28.38).

400 meters: Reindel was fourth (53.20), Bellomo was seventh (55.05), Devon Hammeke was 14th (56.12).

800 meters: Hammeke was 10th (2:13.70).

400 meter hurdles: Tavian Wallace was fifth (1:20.25).

4x100 Relay: Gilbert, Harris, Reindel and Taivonn Ervin was second (44.43).

High Jump: Pigoni-Covington won with a jump of 6 feet, 5 inches.

Long Jump: Pigoni-Covington was 10th (18-8).

Shot Put: Luke King was third (40-9).

Discus: King was fifth (116-9).

WOMEN
100 meters: Chloe Whitmire tied for second (13.48).

200 meters: Whitmire was fourth (27.77).

800 meters: Southern won in 2:20.69, Angelique Escobar was third in 3:55.85.

100 hurdles: Sydney Perkins was fifth (19.87).

Shot Put: Audrie Reuss was third (9.88).
