Head Men's Basketball Coach

Bio

Taylor Angley was named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Shasta College in 2026 after establishing himself as one of the most successful high school coaches in Northern California.

Angley returns to Shasta College as Head Men’s Basketball Coach after previously serving the program as an assistant coach during the 2018-19 season. A former Knight, his experience as both a player and coach at Shasta College gives him a unique appreciation for the institution’s impact on students and the surrounding community.

Prior to returning to Shasta College, Angley spent eight years at University Preparatory School in Redding, serving as a Physical Education and Mathematics teacher, and Head Varsity Basketball Coach. During his tenure as Head Basketball Coach, he led the Panthers to four Northern Section Championships and five league titles in five years while becoming the winningest coach in program history. His teams were recognized for their competitive success, strong culture, and commitment to student-athlete development.

A passionate educator and mentor, Angley earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Management from Christian Brothers University. He later earned a Master of Education in Inspired Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Critical Thinking from National University.

Taylor and his wife, Hannah, welcomed their daughter, June, in 2025. Outside of coaching and teaching, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, mentoring young athletes, golfing, and supporting community-based athletic programs throughout the North State.
