SUSANVILLE, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak by sweeping Lassen College 25-16, 25-16, 25-19 Friday to pick up its first Golden Valley Conference win of the year.

It was the first three-set sweep of the year for the Knights.

Three players registered double-digit kills in the match with sophomore Lexi Bradshaw leading the way with 12. Freshmen Katy Kirk and Brea Carter each had 11 kills, and sophomore Regin Loftin got in on the action with six kills of her own to go with 19 assists.

Bradshaw backed up her offense with a great defensive effort with 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the season.

"Lexi had a tremendous passing game which helped our offense run well," said Shasta College coach Kelly Brazil. "Regin is also now getting to hit so that is helping our offense."

Freshman Maddison Smedley had 10 assists and tied a team-high four aces with freshman Ashley Hale-Tignor. Freshman Skylar Kingsbury led the Knights with 15 digs.

The Knights (3-17, 1-1 GVC) had a season-high 15 service aces in the match.

"This team continues to improve and become more solid in their skills as the season progresses," Brazil said.
